Felty syndrome is characterized by the triad of
chronic rheumatoid arthritis, splenomegaly, and
granulocytopenia. Patients frequently have high
titers of rheumatoid factor, and may also have
subcutaneous nodules.
Although many patients are asymptomatic, some develop serious and life-threatening infections secondary to granulocytopenia.
