What is it like to fly with young children?

I knew it was going to be challenging to keep the
kids from going crazy on the airplane. After all, it
is a fairly long flight (over five hours from
California), considering it is domestic. I have no
idea how people take young kids on 20+ hour flights
to Australia. Even I would start to go nuts on
